Unless there is an incredible reason for you to go out of your way to talk to a black guy, you're most likely going to blow right by him without ever talking to him and look for the white guy that is from some privileged high status family (or at least the typical girl would).

I would say the latter. For example, you may be surprised by how well a Chrysler 300 drives, but if you're in the market for a Benz, you go looking for a Benz and not a Chrysler 300. How many people are going to actively seek out a Chrysler 300 if what they want is a Benz? Even if a 300 is a great car, they are in the market for a Benz, and that's what they're going to seek out. Most won't even stop at a Chrysler dealership. Hopefully, that kind of makes sense.
